Suki( Su-kee) came to our house in Baton Rouge, Louisiana as a little kitten. The year was 1986 .Our daughters Asli and Esra were 2 and 7 years old respectively. She was one of your average "Friskies" box cover kittens.Like every little kitten she was active, playful and a loveable pet.She was doing lots of flips when the two little girls played with her. Esra's love for cats, dogs and horses was just starting. On the other hand Asli was at the beginning of her 16 year gymnastics career. She had just learned the "Tsukahara Vault"**.As proud parents in our beautiful Shenandoah home, the talk of the house was; the "Suk", short for the Tsukahara Vault. The Girls, (Sitare, Asli and Esra) decided to name the kitten Suki (Su-kee). For the next twenty years Suki witnessed everything which happened in our household.Every moment of joy, happiness , sadness, fights, celebrations, mournings and finally our move to Columbus. She was with us at our birthdays, holidays, graduations, family gatherings day after day, year after year. She was not a demanding cat.All her life she ate" Friskies" and some times a little tuna. She had a passion for running water. She would go climb into the bath tub and watch the water drip from the faucet for minutes before she started to lick it. She did not like being touched and especially not by visitors. Some times she would climb on top of the back side of the couch I was sitting on and start smelling and touching my bold spot with her whiskers. Then she would lead me down stairs to her food or to the water faucet. At these moments I always felt close to her, like you would to a relative. Last few months Suki was not feeling well. She was finding her way by walking close to walls and using her whiskers. She was also not able to watch the running water any more. All of a sudden simple joys had became difficult tasks for her. This morning she left our house for good. We will miss her.
