NURPERI*
Nurperi only two and half,
a fairy girl with a holy face,
the youngest laborer of Istanbul at that age
Every morning she goes to work on grandma's lap,
selling her baby smiles at street corners,
with her black eyes filled with joy
Nurperi thinks that is how life goes,
not knowing the cruel fate
and people’s indifference
and what the future will bring to her.

*The name consists off two words: Nur, which translates to light(often holly light)
and peri to fairy.
